T cells: Thymus-originating lymphocytes that join with B cells to produce plasma cells.
 
urine protein electrophoresis(UPEP): A test for measuring the proteins in urine that, at abnormal levels, may be an indicator for plasma cell cancers.
 
VAD: A common treatment for multiple myeloma, this includes the drugs Vincristine a vinca alkaloid that is a mitotic inhibitor; Adriamycin, a DNA-interacting drug; and Dexamethasone, a potent synthetic steroid hormone that acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant.
 
white blood cells: Also called leukocytes, these are responsible for fighting infection and each type, including neutrophils and lymphocytes, will have specific tasks in attacking viruses, bacteria and cancers.
 
Zoledronate: A bisphosphonate that is used as a multiple myeloma treatment to prevent skeletal fractures.
